I also shared a strategy I use at night to fall asleep using the five senses. A visual of this strategy is below. This 5-4-3-2-1 method causes you to focus only on the present and keeps you from thinking about the past or future issues that might be causing stress. It helps your body to slow down and relax. This strategy can also be used for people having a panic attack.
